Information Re: Flu Vaccinations for patients 50-64 years

Please note that people in the 50-64-year old age group will not be vaccinated until November and December, providing there is sufficient vaccine, and no appointments will be offered for this age group until then. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first.  If you are 50-64 and you are in one of the other groups which is eligible for the flu vaccination, for example you have a health condition which puts you at risk from the flu, you will be invited earlier.

Dental practice information

NHS commissioners in the North West team are working with Local Dental Committees and dental practices across the region to consider how they can safely restore dental provision from 8th June. A number of options are being considered to ensure this can be done safely for staff and patients.

The Chief Dental Officer has given 8 June as a date for dental services to start to think about reopening, not all dental practices may be able to reopen straight away and services may not be restored to normal for some time, depending on equipment, training and staff capacity.  In the meantime, all high street dental and orthodontic practices can give advice, guidance and prescriptions, which you can collect from your local pharmacy.

Urgent dental services are also in place across the region for patients and the public during the COVID-19 pandemic.

People with dental problems are being asked to contact their dental practice in the usual way. Those who aren’t registered with a dentist can go to: 

https://www.nhs.uk/service-search/find-a-dentist   Call the dental helpline: Lancashire: 0300 1234 010

They are able to assess patients and provide advice over the phone which may result in a remote consultation with a dentist.  To support NHS services, it is important that people do not visit hospitals or doctors’ surgeries with dental problems.
